Mike Birgen is an Associate Vice President for Philanthropy for the SDSU Alumni & Foundation. Mike previously served as Development Director for the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions at South Dakota State University. His other professional experience includes development work at Northern State University Foundation in Aberdeen, SD, Arizona State University and St. Joseph’s Hospital & Barrow Neurological Foundation in Phoenix, AZ. He received both his BS and MS degrees from Northern State University. Mike and his wife, Tina, have two grown daughters and two grandsons.

I feel fortunate working for the SDSU Alumni & Foundation, serving and supporting Jackrabbit Nation. The people, purpose, and passion embody the fabric of South Dakota State University
